The Cape Reeds Clarinet Quintet was founded in 2022 by Jenny Brand, clarinet lecturer at Rhodes University, to bring together professional clarinet players for the performance of commissioned works for a clarinet quintet – she calls it “a unique and special chamber music ensemble”. The extensive variety of music performed by the ensemble will enthral young and old alike.
Die Cape Reeds-klarinetkwintet is in 2022 gestig deur Jenny Brand, klarinetdosent aan die Rhodes universiteit, met die gedagte om professionele klarinetspelers byeen te bring vir die uitvoering van opdragwerke vir ’n klarinetkwintet – sy noem dit “ ’n unieke en spesiale kamermusiekensemble”. Die groot verskeidenheid musiek wat deur die ensemble uitgevoer word, sal jonk en oud behoorlik meevoer.
