Snake Talk

Sat Apr 22, 09:30 - Sat Apr 22, 11:30

The Sheds, Crocodile River Reserve

ABOUT

Snakes do not have moveable eyelids, external ear openings or a urinary bladder. They do have, amongst other things, a tracheal lung in the neck, 100 to 600 vertebrae and the ability to shed their skin - and quite a reputation!

It is interesting to note that Serpent worship can be dated back to 10,000 BCE. In certain cultures they are seen to represent fertility, creative life force, rebirth or the underworld. Loved or feared they are truly interesting creatures.

Join our snake talk given by Heidi Pfeifer of Snake Bite Assist (https://snakebiteassist.co.za/), see these fascinating reptiles up close and learn the true facts. Practical advice on identification, First Aid and what to do if you encounter a snake will also form part of the talk.

Join us in the beautiful Crocodile River Reserve on Saturday, 22nd April 2023 at 09h30, to discover more about these fascinating reptiles.
