MISSION

We exist to address the inadequacies that faces our community and improve quality of life of society. We believe it takes village to raise a child. 


VISION

Its vision is relegating all social ills that pose as challenges of our society like Poverty and Overpopulated, High unemployment, High Crime Rate, Women and Child Abuse, Alcohol and Drugs, Lack Sport and Recreational Programs, Early Pregnancies, Early School leaving, Lack of Old Age Support Programs and Poor Health Living Environment. We are turning these above mentioned challenges into community development programs.  


OBJECTIVES

To promote and develop our community through the creation of development programmers. To act as a platform that will organize all spheres our community young and old. This will create clusters that can develop different fields of our society. To develop a wider variety of community development activities that will engaged the youth.  To create a self-sufficient structures that will be accountable to the community.


 WHY DUNCAN VILLAGE IN BCMM

Duncan Village is one of the oldest township in South Africa within the Buffalo City Metro Municipality with rich history that is decaying. It is dominated by all challenges like:

-Poverty and Overpopulated

-Unemployment high rate

-High Crime Rate (No police station)

-Women and Child Abuse 

-Young and old with Alcohol and Drugs addiction

-Lack of Sport & Recreational Programs in our schools and community.

-Early Pregnancies and Early School leaving 

-Lack of Old Age Development Programs 

-And Poor Health Living Environment.



WHAT WE DO 

SAFE SECURITY UNIT

The Seed Foundation Safety & Security Unit will be working around the clock to provide top-up safety and security services to those of its primary partner at BCMM law enforcement and SAPS. Along with two operations manager that will overseeing of day shift and other for nightshift standby for the start of this program. In the beginning this will be consist of volunteers from each ward through cooperation with councillors. We aim to assist by providing security officers for our local schools and to work hand in hand with school governing bodies to prevent crime during the day. The Seed will also seek to sign MOU with liquor boards to try and assist with local taverns to ensure that they are closing in correct times and there are no crimes involved. The Seed will also be visible in EL CBD areas to prevent crimes. EL has two Universities which has students that has experiencing crime when the going to their residential place after studying at night. The seed seeks to assist by escorting students in different intervals (visible) to their residential places. The seed has a vision to partner with Emergency services where ambulances are called to be robed at night.


HEALTH UNIT

With 10 volunteers from each ward of BCMM to provide a top-up health services in addition to those provided by BCMM. And give a support to all primary care if necessary. The Seed Foundation Unit will create a professional volunteers for home base care and that will work very close with local clinics. This will held health seminars, awareness campaigns for our communities to bring primary health care at door your step. They will be easily identified by their identity cards and uniform of The Seed foundation.


SOCIAL DEVEPLOMENT UNIT

Along with the Seed Foundation Social Development Unit co-ordinator, we will deploy field workers to be responsible for support services our community. We will aliases with other local NGOs as well as the primary social welfare departments at BCMM or province. The Seed Foundation Social Development Unit is willing to work with other progressive community base organisation that share our vision. We encourage other concerned members of public to support our cause. Our members will easily identifiable by our uniform and with their identity cards of The Seed Foundation.  


ENVIRONMENTAL UNIT

This unit will provide the team of unemployed people as volunteers from each ward, who will doing the top-up services in addition to those provided by BCMM. The street sweeping Teams of volunteers for the day will start from 8H00 until 12H00 first shift and second shift start at 12H00 until 16H00. Their focus will be to create a health environment in our communities and they will be easily identified by their yellow uniforms with The Seed Foundation green bibs.

Environmental management the Seeds seeks to assist the communities by identifying collection points around informal settlements that will be in line with the route of municipality cabbage truck  that will collect already parked in refuge bags so that the municipality truck pass-by will just collect in that point. This will promote cleaner environment for residents.


SPORT & CULTURE

Senior citizen specifically women will be exercising and keeping their aging body and minds to be working as sharp as they used to be. Organising and working with old age home so that all their needs are taken care off. The seed will be preparing them for annual golden games. Working with schools to make sure that all the sporting codes have couches that allow the teacher to undergo the business of the day which is teaching. Closing the gap in the sporting codes between the former model C schools and the schools in townships and rural in the sporting codes. The seed seeks to promote united South Africa through sporting codes. 


EDUCATION /SKILL DEVELOPMENT

The Seed Skill and Education Development Unit that aim to create, develop and promote our programmes. It will act as a platform   that will facilitate our educational and skill developmental programs with the approval of Board. This will create more capable facilitator’s, motivational speakers, project leaders, trainers that will promote the vision of the organisation. To empower our members with relevant necessary skills that will be a benefit to our community. To turn theory into practice by making people realize that it takes a villages to raise a child through our community based development programs.
