House of Manna Skills

About

The Name of our Project is "House of Manna Skills" and we would like to buy machines for our school of sewing. We currently have 5 students and we teach them using 3 empisal sewing machines, 1 industrial plain, and an overlocker. Our machines are not in good condition and we are in need of new machines. We currently have students on the waiting list who remain unemployed whilst we do not have the capacity or enough machines to take more people.

With the increase of crime and poverty that has been escalated by the Covid 19 pandemic, there is a screaming need for income solutions for our communities. The House of Manna aims to be a skills hub where not only do we share a skill that can be turned into a business but we ensure that you are in business since the first day of class.

We have launched our sewing skills class this year and our students get challenged two weeks into the 12 weeks course to make and sell pillows for their own experiential learning as entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship challenges continue throughout the course to motivate and expose our students to the challenges of being an entrepreneur as well as the benefits (making an income)

After graduation, we aim to keep our graduates and form mini-factory providing CMT services to local schools and clinics for uniforms and create income for our graduates.

We would like to fully equip our academy and we need R 80 000

The Tipping point: Our tipping point is R 5 000 and it will help us

  • Repair our 3 domestic machines - R 1 000
  • Buy 2 more domestic machines - R 4 000

Our dream goal is to raise R80000 that will help us:

  • Buy 5 industrial plain machines - R 35 000
  • Buy 3 industrial overlocker machines - R 24 000
  • Buy a steam iron - R 2 000
  • Buy a cutting machine - R 2 000
  • Buy garment printing machine and heat press - R 15 000
  • Domain & Marketing on social media - R 2000
