Internet Cafe and Schools Support

About

Riviersonderend is a small town on the N2 between Caledon and Swellendam. The local economy is mostly agriculture - fruit and grain - with 30%+ unemployment. Many workers are seasonal workers that pick fruit on the surrounding farms.

Currently there are no internet facilities available to the local community. With schools closing every now and then due to COVID-19 restrictions, pupils are becoming more and more reliant on online facilities to submit homework, download info for projects and homework, etc. We aim to supply affordable internet and printing facilities to these pupils in addition to our normal services to the general public, as well as supporting schools that have computers. Our computers will all have links to websites that provide help and support for school subjects, such as Siyavula and Youtube tutorials.

I have done extensive computer support in my younger days and later worked in Child Care facilities. There I was also responsible for the computers and network support and provided internet access and support to the children. My partner is a well-known and respected local entrepreneur with an open hand for those in need. What WE need is YOUR financial support to set up an internet centre. Our goal is to buy 5 PC's and a server with internet cafe software, with the necessary furniture, printer and associated networking hardware. That amount would be around R35000. We should be able to cover our running costs - rent of R3000/m, electricity of R1500/m and printer ink and paper of about R1000/m through our normal business.

All donations, how small it may be, will be highly appreciated and acknowledged. Thank you in advance.
