Artisanal Mining Funds

About

Greetings to all,

My name is Gilbert, a small-scale artisanal diamond miner living in Cape Town. I travel around the country and the neighboring country Lesotho, doing small-scale alluvial diamond prospecting and mining. I believe small-scale mining is a more suitable way to mine diamonds as the environmental impact is less and mostly can be reversible and more people can directly benefit economically from the practice.

My wish is to be licensed in order to do this, in a more sustainable way and to transfer skills while also helping myself and other people in the trade from being exploited. To achieve this, one has to meet certain logistical, infrastructural, and financial requirements set out by the regulating authorities and other miscellaneous expenses like travel and equipment hire. I would like to appeal for help from wellwishers to help with donations in order for me to meet the said requirements.

Gratitudes in advance
