Kloofendal Gold Mine Tour

Tours to the Struben Confidence Reef gold mine are conducted every first Sunday of each month by Rod Kruger, historian at Kloofendal Nature Reserve. These tours are very interesting and tell as far as possible, where the gold came from, and the people who discovered it, leading to the rise of the city of gold, Johannesburg.

Guided 600m walk to the Confidence Reef Mine with Rod Kruger. Rod will take you back to the 1880s and the characters who found gold here and changed the history of South Africa.The walk is easy and the mine is an open-cast mine with no special fitness required. This walk is aimed at adults and children 15 years upwards.

Meet at the Ecological Centre (thatch building) in the Amphitheatre at 1:45pm. This event will go ahead regardless of the weather.
