? GIVE A HELPING HAND

Dear People

I am Elrise Philander and I I'm a 35 year old Quadriplegic. I live in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

I wasn’t born this way but got hit by a car when I was around 7 years of age. I am currently unemployed but want so much to be able to live a full life and have an active part in society but I'm struggling since I couldn't complete my education due to the seriousness of my injuries where I lost my kidney and my longes got damaged so I had to undergo hospitals throughout my childhood and teenage years. I've done about everything, from going to night school to get my matric certification and I've also tried enrolling in online studying to do computer programming but it was too difficult and expensive as my accident case didn't pay out much or the lawyers didn't handle the case well however there's nothing that can be done about that because it was an open and shut case.

Therefore I'm reaching out to anyone and everyone who is kind enough to help me.. I am trying to raise funds to buy a laptop because the one I had is broken and I can't afford to buy a new laptop and also I'm in desperate need of a quality support cushion for pressure support as this is affecting my back and could possibly cause problems for my kidney due to frequent infections and the cushions I get from the hospital is uncomfortable and doesn't give much support.

With the laptop I can persue my dream of becoming a writer and I have written a few things for my church like plays and for our community which is suffering from gangsterrism by trying and reach out to those troubled kids as well as writing to rolling inspiration. I am currently trying to write a book about myself and my experience as a disabled person in hope that it may inspire others like me who feel that they have no hope and don't see no purpose for their lives. I'm am really hopeful that you will help me in raising a R6400, with this I can buy a support cushion and a laptop on which I can do my writing in order to provide me with an income because I can't afford to get all my medical equipment with just a disability grant
