United Prides of Africa

After the great success of Global Pride as a means to keep the world Prides together during the current Covid disaster, Cape Town Pride has put together “United Prides of Africa”.

More than 70% of the countries on the African continent still continue to enforce draconian laws which discriminate and In many cases, subject our community with torture or even death.

United Prides of Africa, for the first time in history, have brought together more than 11 countries and have given them a voice. These countries include some of the worlds most homophobic and dangerous places for the LGBTI+ community such as Uganda, Nigeria, Congo and Zimbabwe.

The 3 - hour show will be streaming free to all and going out to over 1 Million in Africa alone It includes performances and shoutouts from activists, entertainers, allies and celebrities from all over Africa.

We really need your help and support to make this happen and as a fundraiser we ask that you and your members join us in solidarity at watch parties around the globe – we ask each watch party or Pride organisation to send a short clip of support and small donation NO MATTER HOW SMALL, to help give Africa a voice and show the African LGBTI+ community that they are not alone.
