Break away from the blankets and fly your fun flag high into winter as Tuning the Vine’s monthly #InnerCityWineRoute installment returns on Wednesday 11 May from 5.30pm to 9pm.
Keeping the route cosy in the colder months, venues for May are close hop, skip and sip from one another and include 91 Loop, HQ, Guts & Gizzards, Boston, IYO Burgers, Hank’s Bar, Weinhaus & Biergarten, Charango, Bocca and The Gin Bar.
Still need convincing? It’s 1, 2, 3 sip with May’s rockstar calibre of producers including Bloemendal, Buitenverwachting, BioCape, Rosendal, Grand Provence, Vergenoegd, Raats, The Foundry, Contantia Glen, Gabrielskloof, Innis & Gunn, Crystallum, Bizoe and Waterkloof.
Fairview are warming the coggles with some full-bodied red wine action with their Malbec-on-tap at IYO and Bloemendal will be putting the pizazz into Shiraz as they showcase their easy-drinking top end offerings at Boston.
Don’t miss a stop at 91 Loop where The Chenin Blanc Association will be doing a “All things Chenin” focus at 91 Loop featuring wines from Spier, DGB/Bellingham, Leopards Leap, Kleine Zalze, Villiera, Rudera and Simonsig. Feelin’ hangry?
Expect epic “food-on-the-go” for tuners on the move. Venues will be selling items like charcuterie, sliders, mini margaritas, Peruvian tacos, chocolate offerings, chilli poppers, truffle fries, German style sausages, nibbles from the grill and of course, burgers! Sommelier (soh-mell-yay) Tours

The TTV Somms are passionate about wine, with highly-trained and knowledgeable wine brains ready to help you. Starting at 6pm and 7pm from 91 on Loop, these kick-ass 60-minute tours cost an additional R100 p/person (maximum 8 people).
