Create Lasting Change

Join us at The Grand Daddy in Cape Town for the premiere of Come Stay With Me, created by Create Lasting Change in collaboration with the Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and Children and directed by filmmaker Ruben de Kemp.

Set in the Cape Flats near Athlone, the film takes us beyond the familiar images of Cape Town and into a reality that often remains unseen. Through deeply personal stories, Come Stay With Me explores the experiences of women affected by gender-based violence and the complex realities that can make leaving an abusive relationship so difficult.

With sensitivity and honesty, the documentary shares stories of vulnerability, strength, and resilience, while highlighting the vital work of the Saartjie Baartman Centre in supporting women and children affected by gender-based violence as they find safety, rebuild their lives, and move towards independence.

Following the screening, guests will have the opportunity to meet members of the filmmaking team and those behind the collaboration, connect with others, and learn more about the work and purpose behind the film.
