Friends of the Drostdy Museum

We provide a dynamic platform for members of the community to become actively involved in bringing the museum and its remarkable heritage to life. Through fundraising initiatives and special events the Friends help support the preservation of the museum, its historic buildings, collections and beautiful gardens for future generations.

At the heart of the Friends is a belief that a museum should be more than a place where history is preserved, it should be a place where history is shared, experienced and enjoyed.

By encouraging collaboration between the museum and the wider community, we aim to make the stories of the Drostdy and Swellendam accessible, relevant and inspiring to people of all ages.

Whether through volunteering, attending events, sharing knowledge or becoming a member, there are many ways to become part of the Friends and contribute to preserving this special part of our shared heritage.
