The Purple House mentors local creatives and curates community heritage experiences from its arts café in Bonteheuwel, Cape Town. Registered as Die Pers Huis NPO, it provides affordable digital and document services to the community that restore pride, create income pathways, and offer an authentic heritage alternative to Cape Town CBD tourism. Founder Irma Aloven Titus draws on a childhood and a family history of activism (seeKnocking On: Mothers and Daughters in Struggle).
The Purple House honours the legacy of Purple Rain March and turns local memory into livelihoods through mentorship, Memory Walks, cultural events, and low-cost media production. Since 2021 it has run Career Day, the Making History campaign, Memory Walk pilots, and a podcast pilot called Dynamic Dialysis Dialogues.
