Mission Mito

Inspired by Unstoppable Emma, Mission Mito is aimed at starting SA's Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Movement. Mitochondrial Disease is a devastating, progressive, degenerative disease where the body loses it's ability to generate energy within the cells. This leads to many debilitating symptoms, organ involvement and can be life threatening. While statistics show that 1 in 5000 people have mitochondrial disease, it is still largely unheard of with little support and resources for patients and families. We want to change that! There is currently no cure, and many patients don't survive. But with awareness comes knowledge, with knowledge come resources and with resources come research teams that can work towards a cure. We can be UNSTOPPABLE TOGETHER!
