Wintermere Mass Choir

We honor a powerful theme for our musical, one that celebrate music, culture, and courage of different people all over the world, while also acknowledging the cost of war. In every corner of the world, people have sung. They sang and they marched to battle, as they defend their homes and families, as the dreamt of freedom, and as they stood together in moments of hope, fear, and uncertainty.

From the highlands of Scotland to the villages of Romania, from ancient kingdoms, to modern nations, these songs became more than music, they became deep-rooted scars carried through the years.

Many of Anthems, battle cries and patriotic songs, featured in this production were born during times of war. They explore emotions around courage, sacrifice, loyalty and love for their homeland. For those who sang them, war was often not a choice but a reality thrust upon them by the higher power-hungry classes. Yet, every man, woman and child were made to believe that they were on the right side of history, fighting for the common good, their communities, and a better future. A mask to hide the greed and evil motifs beyond. Those who encourage and profit from division , hatred and war, lurks and operates in the darkness.

History reveals a deeper truth over and over again. Beyond every victory and every defeat, lies immeasurable loss. Across all nations and all of humanity, mothers, fathers, children, and friends, suffered alike. The cost of war would be carried by all, forever.

This Musical journeys through the songs of different cultures and generations, weaving together stories of patriotism, resistance and remembrance. Above all, we protect the stories of the fallen. May they be home.
