2026 Indie Authors Rise Up ®

Please join us for the Indie Authors Rise Up book festival for independent authors and self-publishing service providers. Our fourth festival will be even bigger than before, and will be held in venues in the Helderberg from Friday 14 to Sunday 23 August 2026. Look forward to fringe fireside chats at Flagstone and Morgenster wineries, the Imibala Cafe, Cafe 1865, Sage & Thyme and the Somerset West library. There will be 70 authors participating, as well as workshops on laws applicable to authors and content creators and talks on how to self publish. Whether you’re a fan of fiction or non-fiction, there’s something for everyone. Get ready to dive into the world of the imagination of free-spirits and those who work with them. Independent authors have to rely on an entrepreneurial spirit to get their work out there. They need your support! Like the Edinburgh Fringe, our festival is open access.
