About
South African Figure Skating Association (SAFSA)
The South African Figure Skating Association (SAFSA) is the official governing body for figure skating in South Africa. SAFSA is responsible for the development, promotion, and administration of figure skating across all disciplines, including singles skating, pairs, ice dance, and synchronized skating.
Our mission is to grow the sport at all levels—from grassroots participation to high-performance competition—while upholding the highest standards of excellence, fairness, and athlete welfare. SAFSA works closely with athletes, coaches, officials, and clubs throughout the country to provide structured development pathways, competitions, education, and international representation.
As a member of the International Skating Union (ISU), SAFSA proudly represents South Africa on the global stage, enabling our athletes and officials to compete and participate in international events, training programs, and development opportunities.
Driven by passion, integrity, and commitment, SAFSA strives to inspire South Africans to achieve their full potential in figure skating while fostering a supportive and inclusive skating community.
