Wilbur Smith Museum

About

The Wilbur Smith Museum is a dedicated tribute to the life and legacy of one of the world’s most celebrated authors. Wilbur Smith, a master storyteller and fierce advocate for Africa, was born in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) in 1933. He spent his early days exploring the bush on his father’s farm and became capitavted by the books his mother read to him as a child. He combined his love for adventure and his appreciation for the written word to produce iconic titles such as When the Lion Feeds, The Burning Shore and River God.

After his passing in 2021, his beloved and devoted wife, Niso Smith, embarked on a dedicated journey to keep his legacy alive. She created the WIlbur Smith Museum as a sacred space that would honour his extraordinary life and work. The museum is always being updated as it is a living tribute to Wilbur. Niso’s tireless efforts transformed this vision into reality, ensuring that the museum reflects Wilbur’s spirit for adventure and showcases the literary legacy that defined his life.
