The Old Skool

Once upon a time there was a Merry Twit with a dream… a vision of an old schoolhouse from the prairie where we could dance to our “old favourites” on the playa. For years it has been a mirage, a play of light that vanishes if you look too hard…. But the time has come for this spark of light to move through the prism and into reality ?? ?????

The Old Skool stands as a tribute to the teachers who inspired us, the friends who shaped us, and the mischief that made us who we are. It’s a space for reflection, connection, and a good old-fashioned boogie - because some lessons, especially the ones about joy, are never forgotten.

As veteran burners, our most magical nights have been when we stumbled into sound camps playing “music with words”. Where we could dance all night and relive fond memories. The cheesy, the alternative, the fun. We want to create a different space, one that we have seen glimpses of at Burns past – somewhere that allows the wanderers a place to rest in the day, a space that opens its doors for participants to share their gifts and engage the community for daytime joy, and provides banging tunes at night ?????
