The Creative Industries Marketing Stockvel (CIMS) is a collaborative platform designed to empower independent art producers by building and sustaining audiences through an innovative stockvel system. This system provides essential resources, including venue space, marketing support, and communal ticket sales strategies, fostering a sustainable and thriving creative ecosystem.
Through strategic partnerships with community members, local businesses, municipalities, and institutions of higher learning, CIMS creates opportunities for artists to showcase their work, develop professional skills, create and engage with new audiences. To date, CIMS has successfully implemented projects such as the Theatre Stockvel and Film Stockvel in partnership with the Vaal University of Technology, University of the Witwatersrand, Emfuleni Municipality, Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Gauteng Film Commission and the National Film and Video Foundation. These initiatives have collectively attracted over 2,000 audience members and contributed to the growth of local arts communities.
