Port Elizabeth Main Public Library Friends Open Day and Tours

The Main Public Library has been closed to the public for 12 years due to ongoing renovations. By special arrangement with the NMBM, the Main Library Friends, under supervision of NMBM staff, open the library as a tourist attraction when cruise liners are in port. Come and experience this heritage gem of the city.

The facility is awaiting the next phase of renovation and has limited ablution facilities available. To manage overcrowding due to high levels of public demand we are managing access through free access tickets, available for booking through www.Quicket.co.za. Book for one of the tours at 09h00, 10h00 or 11h00.
