Living Ancestors
About
HOLDING THE FIELD
A space for gathering in community connection
We are living through systemic rupture. Economic systems, extractive relationships with the Earth, political agreements, and inherited definitions of success are showing their limits.
In times like these, it is natural to retreat - into control, into isolation, into old survival patterns. To cling to what feels familiar.
But this moment is not asking us to retreat, it is asking us to step forward and participate in creating a more beautiful world. And we cannot do this from a place of dysregulation - we must cultivate the capacity to remain steady in uncertain times, to meet this moment with clarity rather than fear. The future we are working toward - one rooted in justice, regeneration, and belonging - requires nervous systems that can stay present, regulated, and connected.
This gathering is a practice in building that capacity together, because regulation in relationship strengthens our ability to think, feel and act from coherence rather than fear.
- This is a space to remove the mask of competence.
- To speak what is actually present.
- To feel grief without collapsing into despair.
- To feel hope without bypassing reality.
Living Ancestors is not only about reimagining wealth, legacy, and inheritance. It is also about relational presence, because becoming good ancestors means staying connected when tension rises, and sitting with complexity without rushing toward certainty or collapsing into despair.
This is a space to bring what is most alive in you - to speak what has been unspoken, to share grief or joy, to be witnessed without fixing or judgment, and to remember that we all matter and we all belong.
What to Expect
We will begin with a short meditation and a simple prayer to the ancestors - a remembering that we are part of a longer story than this moment.
There will be guided journaling prompts, followed by shared reflection.
No fixing.
No advice.
No performance.
No pressure to speak.
Silence is welcome.
So are stories, tears, songs.
This is a space to remember that you do not have to hold this moment alone. Bring cacao, tea or just your breath.
What you’ll need:
• A quiet, cosy space where you won’t be interrupted
• A journal and pen
• Cacao, tea or whatever grounds and centres your system
• Optional: light a candle and take 10 minutes to arrive before we begin
