LUMENOCITY
About
LUMENOCITY – The ?rt of Light is a four-night experience that transforms Cape Town’s historic Company’s Garden into a living canvas of light, creativity, and imagination. From 9–12 April 2026, the city will come alive each evening with large-scale installations, projection mapping, and interactive works that merge art, technology, and play into unforgettable encounters. Every piece is created exclusively by South African artists, designers, and storytellers — giving local talent a global stage and audiences an experience unlike anything Cape Town has seen before.
Reviews
"Wonderful family event but with very slow admission process which caused long back up frustrating queues . Paid parking had to be booked in advance which was not clear on the website causing huge jam ups in the street and frayed tempers "

"It was amazing. The artistry was out of this world and recycling materials was definitely a wonderful touch. Good luck and thank you for all your hard work. "

"What a creative spectacle of lights and movement. It engaged all the people from young to old! The two displays I loved the most were the large-scale light projection on the Iziko SA Museum and the Iziko SA Art Gallery. My only suggestion would be to have more than one ticket scanner at the entrance, as there were long queues. Also, some of the food stalls ran out of food, but how would they know what a success the event would be? I hope you had a First Aid Unit on site in case anyone fell in the dark, tripped over uneven pavement, or tripped over lighting cables. Very well done to the light artists. "
