MandiFeze is a vibrant music and performance duo formed in 2023 by Mandisa Nomalungelo Yende and Lufezo Yamandumo Bovungana. Now also existing as a production company, they are rooted in a shared passion for storytelling and healing. MandiFeze combines their skills as theatre makers, directors, and musicians to create work that resonates deeply with their audiences.
Drawing inspiration from African traditions and spiritual practices, their art centers on ingoma, a harmonious blend of song and rhythm used for connection, release, and healing. Through their performances, MandiFeze not only communicates with their audiences but also honors ancestral struggles, ensuring their stories and sacrifices are remembered.
MandiFeze’s craft is inherently spiritual, inviting their audiences to experience the full emotional spectrum of Black existence and excellence. Their work incorporates elements of ritual, fostering an environment of introspection and renewal. Whether through evocative music or poignant theatrical narratives, MandiFeze transforms the stage into a space of collective reflection and healing.
