KABOMEDI

Kabomedi is a backyard-based platform in Soweto that brings poetry, kasi rap, jazz, comedy, and vinyl DJ sets into community homes. Each session transforms a home into an exhibition space, balancing performance, conversation, and economy. Alongside the shows, Kabomedi runs youth workshops and a community library, creating intergenerational learning spaces where knowledge is shared. We also host local stalls selling food, books, and creative products directly from artists and community vendors, building a culture of supporting each other and circulating resources.
