Kruger & Tutu is a multicultural, multilingual (French, English & Afrikaans) multi-generational, purpose-driven acoustic duo — blending the soul of Van Morrison with the fire of Imagine Dragons, the heart of The Eagles, and the storytelling depth of Counting Crows. Rooted in South Africa yet reaching for global stages, their dream isn’t just a winning a Grammy, but to make music that heals, connects, and carries meaning across cultures. Their vision is tuned not just to fame, but to impact. Kruger & Tutu are bridge-builders with guitars, writing songs that matter in more than one language, with their eyes set on reaching across Africa to Europe and the Francophonic world.
Kruger and Tutu(KT) was formed in 2023 when Matt Kruger & Warren Tutu met. KT has since performed at several of the large SA Music Festivals such as KKNK and Woordfees, as well as having performed live on-air at several premium radio stations and television channels such as Kfm, SABC 3 and Bok Radio.
Matt Kruger is an established South African songwriter, credited with writing “Soetste Suiker”, which was performed by SA Afrikaans pop Icon Juanita Du Plessis and went on to be included on the top selling 2010/2011 Afrikaans Album “Engel van my hart”.
