About
BARRYDALE IN BLOOM 2026
ABOUT
Join us for a fun and exciting Klein Karoo weekend getaway from 6 to 8 November 2026 during Barrydale's annual charity fundraising event where the community comes together to showcase its diverse gardens and talents to raise money for Barrydale Hospice and other worthy causes.
WHERE
The main festivities take place at the historic Môreson property at the entrance to the town. This is where the Gala Dinner will be held on Friday evening as well as the festival market, tea garden and an information table on Saturday. A short stroll down Van Riebeeck street you'll find the Belanti room at the Karoo Art Hotel which will be the venue for talks.
COME EARLY
Make your visit to this beautiful town longer and attend some of the workshops during the week prior to the festival! Art lovers can visit local artists at their open studios and for cycle enthusiasts the Barrydale Cycle Loop awaits. There are many wonderful hikes around Barrydale to explore. Make the most of all our locally crafted libations - book tastings at Joubert-Tradauw Vineyards, Metanoia Gin Distillery, Joseph Barry Brandy Distillery, or Maker's Brew craft beer.
WEEKEND
The festival kicks off with a Long Table Gala Dinner on Friday evening. A full program on Saturday and Sunday includes a visit to 20 diverse gardens in Barrydale and Smitsville, a variety of hikes and runs (furry friends welcome), a bustling festival market and tea garden, workshops, art exhibitions, champagne at Die Langhuis, high tea at Kamala Karoo Sanctuary, and talks by gardening and environmental specialists.
After the success of the Kids Pod play area last year a dedicated spot with children's activities will be created at the Môreson market on the Saturday. Kids (aged 5 - 12) can immerse themselves in nature-themed activities. Parents can have peace of mind and leave their kids from 9:00 to 15:00 on Saturday. Buy a separate ticket for this magical offering.
See what we are up to on our Instagram @barrydaleinbloom - we will share our program, and feature our guest speakers and workshop facilitators there.
