About

Silvana Bottega gained an Honours degree in History of Art and English Language from the University of Cape Town, where she was awarded class prize in Media Studies. She then read a trilingual Masters in European Politics and Policy from Sciences-Po in Paris, University of Siena and the University of Bath with her dissertation focused on ‘The Branding of Nations’. Directly after her studies, she secured a place on the sought after WPP fellowship programme designed to cultivate high-calibre management talent. After a career working on numerous international brands in Asia Pacific and in the UK, she returned to South Africa. For many years, she committed herself to philanthropy, giving her time to run the Southern Africa Luxury Association (a network of 4000 people).

She now is the strategic force behind the Africa Luxury & Wealth Summit – an initiative she founded – that annually brings together CEO level leaders in luxury and wealth management in media partnership with the Financial Times and Pernod Ricard. She is trusted within the wealth management industry in South Africa and has developed HNW & UHNW client initiatives, based on liquid asset targets, for Investec Private Bank, Sanlam Private Investments, Citadel Private Wealthcare, RMB Private Bank and the like. She has written for various publications on passion investments, luxury, perfume, wine, art advisory.

Her events range between hosting leadership forums on wealth, developing ultra net worth roundtables, to celebrity focused VIP trunk shows through to managing the gala functions for pan-African leaders celebrating the Innovation Prize for Africa for the AIF and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa. She is committed to accelerating artisan talent in South Africa has seen her help to build awareness around the craftsmanship and skills available in South Africa.

She spends her spare time developing new wines, perfumes and leather goods range for her family wine estate in Stellenbosch and Hermanus.
