Monday Matters: Mobilising Marketplace Missionaries

South Africa is a nation of remarkable resilience, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit. Yet more than four in ten South Africans are unemployed, and nearly six in ten young people cannot find work. At the same time, artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping industries, creating new opportunities while raising difficult questions about the future of work.

In a moment like this, every Christian in the marketplace has a unique opportunity to make a lasting difference.

Whether you lead a business, manage a team, make hiring decisions, launch a new venture, search for work, or simply seek to honour Christ in your daily work, your Monday matters. These are the places where God is shaping your character, advancing His kingdom, and using ordinary faithfulness to bring hope, flourishing, and opportunity to others.

Monday Matters is a one-day Faith & Work conference that brings together executives, entrepreneurs, young professionals, students, and job seekers to explore what it means to follow Jesus in today’s changing world of work. Through inspiring local and international speakers, practical conversations, and biblical teaching, we’ll wrestle honestly with the challenges facing our cities—from unemployment and technological change to purpose, leadership, and workplace mission.

Come and be equipped to see your work through God’s eyes, discover fresh purpose for your vocation, and join a growing movement of Christians seeking the flourishing of our workplaces, our cities, and our nation.

Your Monday matters more than you think.

"I know we were struck for time, and that's why we were recording so we can listen to all speakers eventually. But I would have loved to have a chance to listen and engage with everyone at the event, so in essence a longer event..."

"Guest speakers should have been positioned in a front of the room, makes clear to attendees who are being introduced. Perhaps would have been greater benefit to understanding if a handout was given, introducing each speaker, need not be glossy publication. If the event is going to split into tracks / groupings, the seating should be made accordingly, makes it easier to split up when necessary. Catering was perfect. "
