Project Vuka
About
We're a BME artist’s empowerment initiative based in the heart of the cape flats. We tale struggling artists and platform them through live shows and parties. We give them 5 main oppurtunities:
Exposure
Networking
Professional Practice
Cultural Exchange
Festival Participation
We will stage several of these shows throughout the year in different township locations, leading up to our new theme-camp for Afrikaburn 2026 - Camp Vuka - which will take a select number of our artists and show them the festival space, all expenses paid. The aim is to diversify the Afrikaburn cohort and remove economic participation barriers for underprivileged communities.
We market all our operations, events, and progress both locally and internationally through UK partnerships, enabling our project to reach a truly global audience, and enhancing the publicity to be gained for our artists, team, and the township communities we help.
