From the first moment I started driving the N2 regularly in 2010, I looked at the schools next to the N2 and I wanted to plant some sort of hedge of green for them. Seeing the little kids playing next to the highway is a double edged sword. Their joy is infectious, but they look so exposed in their little playground with not one green growing thing.

We are fundraising now to plant 100 spekboom for the Primary school. The spekboom cost R100 each. The fence is 36meters long. That's 5 spekboom every 2 meters. However if we get more money in, we will do more trees.

We are planning a full day where the kids can participate in a full fun day, making them feel part of the green dream. We want to ask the Hare Krishans to bring some food for the kids and perhaps some other activities with the kids with some facilitators. A festive day of digging, composting, planting, eating and fun games inbetween.
