About
Sama Yoyo is a versatile artist, with experience as an actress, singer, songwriter, pianist, guitarist and visionary curator of the live music series, Afro Indie Sessions.
Born and raised in the Eastern Cape university town of Dikeni and national arts’ festival home, Makhanda, Yoyo first came to the attention of national audiences when she was named one of 34 finalists in the Idols SA 2012 season. With a PGCE from UCT and BA in Dramatic Arts & Linguistics from Rhodes University, Yoyo is also an experienced educator, and an instructional coach.
