The Teacher Coach
About
I am Erika Engelbrecht-Aldworth, the founder of "The Well-being Initiative Pty. (Ltd)". We strive to make well-being education available for all. The Well-being Initiative (TWI) is dedicated to advancing well-being across personal, professional, and educational domains. As one of the leaders in well-being education, TWI thrives on innovation, collaboration, and support as we aim to create well-being ecosystems that foster sustainable growth and resilience with lasting impact. My mission is to provide research-based, inclusive, and meaningful well-being education that integrates personal and professional growth.
At The Well-being Initiative, I integrate insights from behavioural sciences and psychology to deliver a holistic, evidence-based approach to well-being education. By addressing well-being from multiple angles, I aim to create inclusive, value-driven programmes that empower individuals and communities to thrive.
My work is driven by four key branches, each uniquely contributing to our overarching goal of raising awareness and promoting well-being through education:
1. SATWI – The South African Teacher Well-being Initiative: Established in 2023, SATWI is a pioneering initiative that supports teachers in prioritising their well-being. By providing free resources, advocacy, and professional development, SATWI empowers educators to thrive personally and professionally, enabling them to better serve their learners.
2. The Teacher Coach: This coaching branch provides teachers with practical tools, mentorship, and strategies to navigate the complexities of their profession. Our holistic, teacher-centric approach fosters resilience, reduces stress, and cultivates a growth mindset.
3. Teachers Matter: A free publication that bridges the gap between research and practice, Teachers Matter translates academic insights into actionable strategies for educators. By fostering global collaboration, it ensures teachers have access to inclusive, practical resources to enhance their professional journey.
4. Well-being Matters: This publication explores well-being across all aspects of life, offering research-backed insights and thought-provoking articles. By challenging readers to think critically about well-being, it cultivates a deeper understanding of how personal and professional growth intersect.
As a Women of Stature Awards Finalist in the category: Coaching and Mentoring, I continue to facilitate meaningful change in well-being education.
