The beauty of life is in its unpredictability which is often quoted by many ‘as a rollercoaster’ so many ups and so many downs but in-between it all we learn from the experience. 2024 has been that year that has seen so many unexpected challenges especially with the economy which has then impacted negatively on so many hopes and dreams. However there is yet another saying, ‘If the world throws you lemons, then make lemonade’ and we believe that is how one overcomes life’s many challenges.
Under the saying ‘Local is Lekker’ MixMasterz_SA has a vision to push forward with making young people’s dreams come true despite their circumstances. It is known that warriors are made from battles and in the battle to be supreme one has to fight with resilience and courage, and as such, MixMasterz_SA has partnered with Genetrinity to presents this competition called “Battle of the locals Mid-Vaal Edition”
‘Battles of the Locals’ is mainly a talent competition aimed at supporting and nurturing young, raw and talented performers into professional performers who can contribute to the creative value and the nation’s economy through creation of employment of young vibrant South Africans both locally and internationally. With the vision to expand ‘Battle of the Locals’ talent platform, MixMasterz_SA and Genetrinity has expanded the platform by adding three more categories including Tik Tok Dance Battle and DJ Battle in addition to the Talent Show.
Battle of the locals also named BOTL is a 3 thronged platform.
1. It’s a live talent show competition that is setup as entertainment for the local communities.
2. It’s an internet TV show (YouTube, Facebook and Tiktok based) and visual platform where the show is recorded and shared with the nation to create online entertainment, engagement and build business partnerships and a strong portal to social media marketing.
3. It is a ‘performing arts’ empowerment program that is both educational and designed to promote tourism in the Vaal.
