South African Shogi Kai

Nihongo no Niwa is a Japanese language school dedicated to bringing the richness of Japanese culture and language to South African learners. With a focus on JLPT N5-N3 levels, we aim to provide engaging, immersive lessons for students eager to travel to, or work in, Japan or to simply enjoy Japanese media without subtitles. Beyond the classroom, we create opportunities for cultural exchange through workshops, social events, and community collaborations.  

As part of our commitment to fostering authentic connections with Japanese traditions, Nihongo no Niwa is honoured to host the launch of the South African Shogi Kai. This marks a significant milestone in growing the appreciation for shogi (Japanese chess) in South Africa, providing a space for enthusiasts to learn, play, and connect.
