Portia Sibiya is one of best female bass player in South Africa, and she has a band which I think will suit and cater for you with a world class music at the smoking dragon Festival . We are a 6 piece Afro-Pop/Jazz/R&B band from Johannesburg and our influences include Jonathan Butler, Jimmy Dludlu, Mariam Makeba and Hugh Masekela to name a few. We may well be well suited to engage on a smoking dragon
Women In Music is an NPO focusing on artist management/performance bookings/ and we do a lot of community development project/programs to empower women in the arts sector, we also give food parcels to disadvantaged communities and to the homeless. On this event we would love to partner with you and distribute to 38 underprivileged families, as part of our empowerment program. Let’s stand together as a community to make a difference in the lives
of others. Based on the nature of the venue, we are confident that our band will suit you as our client Tickets buyers; The event will be supported by High Profile guests, including Business Executives, Dignitaries, Celebrities, Media and Ticket buying members of the public. This also means it will be a much talked about event within the target audience.
Live music, electronic vibes, outdoor sculptures, graffiti artists and even an outdoor cinema. We host community workshops, welcoming those who would not normally afford to attend such events. We showcase as many live and electronic acts as we can. On special nights, we celebrate "women-fronted”. We were the first festival to create a Queer - friendly zone. We cater for many different audiences inviting musicians from varied genres.
And the venue? WOW! Amphitheatre Backpackers eco-lodge is set in the Northern Drakensberg and encircled by awe-inspiring mountains. Two dams and a river are on-site, and there are many nearby outdoor activities. Festival-goers can leave the nest and venture out into the wilderness. You can hike, mountain bike, zipline, quad bike, horse ride, fish, and even take a helicopter ride.
City dwellers, we are only a hop away Smoking Dragon is conveniently situated midway between Johannesburg and Durban on tarred roads. The festival draws audiences from both cities as well as Cape Town.
