"We participated in the Durban Night Race last night and had a really great experience overall. The organiser who led the event briefing truly stood out she was engaging, funny, welcoming, and spoke clearly enough for everyone to hear. Her energy set a fantastic tone for the evening, and she did an excellent job. The BLAST stand was also a highlight very well presented, and the prizes on offer were impressive and added to the excitement of the event. The run itself, especially through the sugarcane fields, was a unique and enjoyable experience. The cooler evening temperature made it even more pleasant. There are just a couple of areas that could be improved. A section of the route passed through the Marine Walk bin area, which was unfortunately quite unpleasant due to odours and wet surfaces. Without proper lighting, this made it slightly difficult to navigate. Perhaps this section could be reconsidered in future. Additionally, the sound quality during announcements could be improved a better speaker system would help ensure that the organiser’s voice comes through clearly rather than sounding muffled. Thank you to SPAR for the bananas and oranges they were fresh, delicious, and well presented. One small suggestion would be to manage the serving area more carefully. It was a bit off-putting to see staff eating over the display at the same time as runners were finishing. Allowing runners to be served first, or having staff step away from the stand while eating, would improve the overall presentation. All in all, it was a fun and well-organised event, and we look forward to participating again. "
