About

Dr. Genevieve Da Silva is an educational psychologist, working in independent practice in South Africa. Genevieve completed her B.Psych, Masters and Doctorate degrees through the University of South Africa. Her research focussed on parenting to promote responsibility, autonomy, overall wellbeing and healthy relationships in children. She is a published author presenting practical steps for caregivers to equip children in life skills and holistic development. Her work experience includes teacher, counsellor, lecturer and psychologist in the Gauteng, Western Cape and Eastern Cape regions of South Africa. She has a heart for families, helping them understand the intricate dynamics and developing strategies towards healthy functioning. She is passionate about children, understanding their uniqueness and encouraging them to reach their full potential through social, emotional and practical skills development. She believes parenting is purposeful and helps equip parents in their charge of raising the next generation through individual consultation and group workshops. She also inspires and equips teachers in their role in child development in our diverse country through various workshops, organisational consultation and conference presentations.  She is engaged in community upliftment through various organisations that operate in education and child development spheres. Genevieve trains mental health and educational students at tertiary level, as well as continued education for mental health professionals (CPD). She is married to Rick da Silva, and together they are raising three boys and lead a faith based community, Bridge Church, Port Alfred
