1. Performance and Nonperformance Based Workshops

We offer workshop based training to groups and individuals within the follow areas:
i. iSpeech
This workshop provides an insight into the theoretical knowledge concerning basic speech- and voice training. The aim is to firstly understand the theory and then learn how to apply it correctly.
 
This workshop is useful to singers, public speakers, lecturers or anyone who at some stage will be addressing an audience. Knowing how to use your voice effectively builds confidence and reduces stress levels when addressing small or large audiences.
     
i. iiActing and Directing
We are aware of the fact that not everyone can afford to go to a drama school. This workshop is a crash-course into the world of acting.
 
We teach you basic theatre terminologies, text analysis, character analysis and acting methods.
 
Our directing workshop stretches over a period of two full days and includes: Introduction to directing/History and Role of the Director/Theatre Terminology/Introduction to theatre (conventional and community theatre)/Theatre for Development/Script analysis and Conceptualisation/Auditions, casting and planning Rehearsal/Assignment and Group work/Set, lighting and sound design/Blocking/Shaping the performance/Sufficient communication/The Director as Researcher.
 
i. iiiMovement and Dance
Our movement and dance workshop is designed to assist our clients in firstly becoming comfortable in their own skin and then slowly progresses into teaching various dance styles which includes Hip-hop, African Contemporary, Free Style and Modern Dance.
 
The purpose of this workshop is not to develop professional or competitive dancers, but is a very effective individual, partner or team building exercise.
 

2. Industrial intervention Program

Drama, Theatre and role-playing methods have the ability to expose individuals or groups to methods in which they can express their ideas and emotions in ways that cannot be done through language alone. It can be used to carry a message and spread information in exciting and visual ways that capture the attention of target groups and ensure the absorption of the information. 
 
Within the working environment, management at times struggle to get various messages across to the team. Research has shown that the majority of people don’t deal well with change. Changes such as restructuring, new management, mergers etc. may cause headaches for management. Other challenges such as staff Health and Wellness has become a huge responsibility within the corporate world, and staff members are not always comfortable communicating with management concerning issues relating to personal health, HIV/AIDS, budgeting etc.
 
We use drama, theatre and role-playing to assist people to come to terms with their environment and the responsibility of improving their lot culturally, educationally, politically, economically and socially 
 
The advantage of using these methods is based on the fact that performance art is an effective tool to raise consciousness, foster local knowledge and spark social action because it opens a space for dialogue that practically anyone, regardless of his/her background, can enter. It does not discriminate against the illiterate, and allows people to express their views in their own unique language and manner. Its ability to dismiss itself as fiction, and to deliver fun to the gathered crowd, makes it a safer way to discuss sensitive issues.
