Join us on Saturday 28 March for the The Wild Fig Wine Festival & Market Day — a relaxed outdoor gathering with good wine, good food, and easy company.


We open from 9am for breakfast — pop in early for coffee and a relaxed start to the day before wandering through the market and wine festival.


The wine festival takes place from 12–4pm, with tickets at R150 per person. Discover interesting, thoughtfully curated wines, along with new menu items from The Fig.


Enjoy beer tasting, live music, and space to settle in for the day at the market which runs from 10am–4pm, with local vendors, picnic vibes, and plenty of benches and tables on the great lawn at Protea Hotel.


Come for an hour or stay all afternoon — simple pleasures, interesting wines, good food, and an easy country-on-your-doorstep feel.

"We loved tasting the wines from little known estates like Black Pearl and Pilgrim. The venue had a lot of seating and wasn't crowded. We ate from the restaurant and the food was really excellent. There were enough wine estates, and it was good to taste beer and the tequila."
