About

The South African Disability Alliance (SADA) is the national umbrella body representing organisations of and for persons with disabilities, advocating for inclusion, dignity, and equal access across all sectors of society. We pride ourselves in being the custodian of disability rights and unified voice in the disability sector in South Africa. SADA provides a platform for seeking consensus and reaching common positions on issues relating to:

  1. Key policy and legislative issues relating to disability at national, regional (African) and international levels
  2. Public perceptions of disability and persons with disabilities
  3. Norms and standards of services and service delivery to persons with disabilities
  4. Representing a unified voice as the disability sector without restricting differing views
  5. Joint strategies and inclusive positions on cross-cutting issues affecting persons with disabilities
  6. Self-representation by persons with disabilities
  7. Advocating and lobbying on issues affecting persons with disabilities
  8. Leadership for persons with disabilities in South Africa on issues affecting us, and
  9. Public education and awareness
