About

Yzerfontein Neighbourhood Watch (YNHW) is a voluntary organisation that was initiated by the residents of Yzerfontein to prevent crime in support of the South African Police Service (SAPS).

The purpose of YNHW is to establish a structured environment, within which the community can organise itself in terms of wellbeing and safety and security in support of everyone, in coordination with the SAPS, Law Enforcement and community organisations.

True to the vision of YNHW, “To live a life of wellbeing in a safe town”, the NHW activities are focussed on but not restricted to preventing crime. The expanded role of the NHW is taken on with ease to include active involvement in activities such as emergency preparedness and response, assistance during community disasters and community initiated support programs.
