About

The African Women's Movement (AWM) is a non-profit organisation committed to addressing systemic inequality between men and women, particularly in Africa. We bring together women from diverse organisations, uniting their efforts for greater collective impact. Our approach is holistic, grounded in the biopsychosocial and Continuous Lifelong Development (CLD™) model, empowering women across Africa and the diaspora.

At the heart of our work is the Thrive Programme—a gamified system for personal and professional development that equips women with the skills, resources, and support to thrive in all aspects of life: personally, socially, and economically. Our community spans multiple sectors, working to influence key industries, advocate for economic justice, and develop future female leaders through training and mentorship.

Our vision is a world where women and youth are empowered to thrive as equal contributors in every facet of life.

"I really enjoyed today’s AWM’s induction. It wasn’t like the usual networking events where you have to figure things out on your own, it felt more intimate and engaging, the way everything was presented honestly gave me so much hope, and I’m really happy to be part of this community. And as a student about to enter the professional world, it was inspiring being around such amazing professionals. Thank you for such a great event????????"
