Music Over Mind (MOM) – A New Chapter

We are proud to announce the transition of our Music Over Mind (MOM) initiative into schools, launching with a pilot programme at a Secondary school in Grassy Park.

The MOM school pilot focuses on high-impact interventions that support youth mental well-being through music, creativity and peer support, including:

  • A high-energy activation event to launch the programme & KEYJ Kind Heart Bench symbolising care and connection
  • Peer Helper training and workshops led by Hope House
  • Tailored mental health workshops infused with music
  • Support for the school’s Music Department through KEYJ’s industry network

In addition, the Foundation will fund Peer Helper training and tailored workshops at two additional schools.

This new direction takes the KEYJ Foundation deeper into schools and closer to the realities faced by young people. Supported by a three-year operational sponsorship from the Allan Gray Philanthropic Initiative, continued funding remains essential to expand our reach to achieve our mission.
