De Hoop SA

De Hoop SA was founded in September 2021.

As a non-profit organisation, it aims to assist the rural community in and around De Hoop, with restorative projects at the premises of the local historical church buildings, the development of affordable housing and sustainable job creation.

Our key message is: “Die Hoop Beskaam nie” (the Hope is not ashamed...)

We will bring hope by developing a community where poverty can be alleviated through preserving the existing assets as working and income generating projects, while also building dignified housing and creating job opportunities for our beneficiaries.

The De Hoop village consists of the majestical sandstone church building, surrounded by 130 proclaimed residential erven to house informal settlers currently living on a railway line, as well as farmworkers living in the area.
