Homestead Heritage

In 2017 three families from Kokstad (KZN) moved to the Garden Route to start a Christian community. We are part of Homestead Heritage, which currently has fellowships in Texas, Virginia, Idaho, Montana, Mexico, Israel, New Zealand and of course South Africa. Our literature and our lifestyle stresses simplicity, sustainability, self-sufficiency, cooperation, service and quality craftsmanship. In most of these areas we still have a long way to go but we are glad to have begun the journey!

In January 2020 we opened Heritage Bakery, where coffee, light meals, pizza, fresh produce, meat, fresh chicken and crafts are sold. The Bakery is open from Wednesday to Friday every week. We are situated on the N2 midway between Wilderness and Sedgefield, within a kilometer of Timberlake. The setting is pleasant and peaceful.
