AmberMacs Macadamia Expo
Reviews
"This was so mind opening, a very informative event. From exhibitions that were taking place outside up to the guest speakers unleashing the macadamia industry at large. What I loved most is seeing how precision technology is changing the agricultural land scape; the introduction of Integrated Pest Management system to prevent insects such as nut borer, stink bug and thrips just to mention the few, also the harvesting machines, all was explained so well. All in all I can say thank you, I was so impressed with all that took place at the event. ??"

"Enjoyed the presentations a lot. Just felt that the afternoon presentations period could be shortened by an hour. Instead of finishing at 16h00 it could run until 15h00. People generally loose focus and concentration towards the end of the day. Although Saturday discussions ended at just after 15h00 this could also be shorted a bit. "

"Congratulations on organizing an amazing expo! It always astounds me to see how much you accomplish with such a small team of people. Well done!
I really enjoyed to see how much your team grew. On a subtle basis, it gives one hope for the future to see new faces join the team. It was also delightful to experience how those new faces are empowered to be the face of their respective responsibilities (e.g., Hilde with AmberCircle).
What worked well: Talks that lasted for only half-a-day, not the whole day (like the previous year). This gives people a chance just to chat about life outside of formal gatherings. On that note, and I do not know how feasible it is, I would have liked to sit around a fire with some of the people I met at the expo. After the formalities have gone - roasting marshmallows, cracking nuts (just to keep your hands busy) and having a drink and a piece of boerewors. Of course, something like that would bomb out completely if the weather does not play along.
Parking: I think the parking worked out better than last year, and the 'bushy parking area' next to the tar road was a great addition... as were the safari vehicles transporting people.
Muddiness: It worked really well that you used wood chips to deal with the muddiness at the AmberMacs facility. Perhaps, some of that wood chips can also be used in the parking area next to the tar road, as the level of squishiness made my 4x4 heart jump with happiness! It might not be everyone's cup of tea, though. And walking around in muddy shoes is not much fun.
Venue: The sound system and air conditioners were a great improvement on last year. Thank you! "
