Resthaven Ministries

About

Providing hope for all ages.

David House is currently home to HIV+ children. We have been blessed because we have had 2 of the children that live in the house adopted, and we now have 7 children. We have been able to provide a close knit family environment for the children who are a family. The children attend a Christian school and 2 of the children attend special needs schools. They attend church every Sunday and participate in school sport and other school activities like Dance Mouse, soccer, cricket, etc. The children benefit from support provided from the likes of Kibwe Kids, Edison Lebone and various church groups who provide food, clothing and finances where possible.

Camelia House & Jasmin Place are our old age homes providing accommodation and care for 19 pensioners. Due to their circumstances these pensioners are generally state pensioners receiving a meager pension from the Government and part of this goes towards their keep with the balance being used for their personal hygiene and clothing. A number of these pensioners are very old and in need of frail care but due to the long waiting lists and costs attached to these services these people are unable to move into these frail care homes making it difficult for Resthaven to assist them. Their hospital, clinic and medical needs are provided by the local state hospitals and clinics with Resthaven providing transport etc.

We are in the process of opening a new baby sanctuary by upgrading an existing facility in our building (which was an old hospital) where we are able to provide, on an ongoing basis, the opportunity for babies to come into our home thus ensuring a nurturing, loving and safe environment for the time that they are with us and thereby ensure that healthy babies are delivered to new expectant families. We are almost ready to open up and accept babies. The reason for the delay has been financial as much upgrading had to take place.

We are currently feeding over 2000 people a month by distributing food through various organisations in the area.

We offer training in the form of short courses for Parents and caregivers, as well as church planting courses amongst others.

All free of charge NO government funding is given - We would not be able to do any of this without help from our supporters.

Please donate to help us carry on providing much needed care to those who need it most.
