About

Taare, based in Cape Town, South Africa, is a not-for-profit Indian dance troupe. Taare's mission is to promote the Indian performing arts through the creative use of Bollywood music. The troupe provides a platform for individuals to pursue their passion and love for dance while contributing to the enrichment of the greater community.

Founded in 2012, Taare has staged 8 themed dance productions and now shares with you their latest offering, a unique collaborate production entitled When Dancers Unite, from the comfort of your own home.

While continuing to create work that is accessible and affordable, the troupe promotes and celebrates diversity, heritage and innovative artistry through dance.

"I myself only has seen the last 3 of their productions (2018, 2019 and now this one in 2021) and regrettably not their first productions and with just the three they're all exceptionally awesome in their own rights. Ahneesh and the group even overcame new difficulties with creating The Taare Express by online practicing and it came out beyond perfect. I absolutely loved all of TTE and I cannot wait what is next in store for us in their tenth year running in 2022. To Ahneesh and the team, standing ovation from me, very well done. "The Taare Express was absolutely delightful! The dancing and choreographing were magnificent!! It was obvious that there was a great deal of attention to detail. Lots of time and energy was needed to pull this off, especially during the pandemic. Very impressive! I was captivated by the music, dress and scenes while traveling throughout India in the various states. I thoroughly enjoyed it!"
