About
SACIA (South African Communication Industry Association) is a not-for profit organisation dedicated to promoting the adoption of professional standards and ethical business practices in the communications industry throughout Southern Africa. We are a SAQA-recognised professional body and award a number of professional designations to industry professionals working in the broadcast, AV and content creation markets.
SACIA is a SAQA-recognised professional body engaged in promoting the adoption of professional standards in the communications industry throughout Southern Africa.
In our role as a professional body we are required to:
1. Promote public understanding of, and trust in, professions through the establishment of a nationally regulated system for the recognition of professional bodies and for the registration of professional designations
2. Work with Quality Council’s to ensure curriculum development is aligned with industry trends and the needs of employers
3. Support the development of a national career advice system
4. Encourage the development and implementation of continuing professional development
5. Act as an Assessment Quality Partner to ensure education standards and assessment criteria are consistent across all training providers.
